Laos 2014

Laos 2014

Laos, a landlocked country that some may not be familiar with, offers breathtaking places and unspoiled locals, unlike its more tourist-friendly neighbors.

After crossing the Thai-Lao border, we took a two-day boat trip down the Mekong River to Luang Prabang, the former and beautiful capital city. From there, we traveled to Phonsavan, a town where the Plain of Jars is located. Then, we passed through the lively town of Vang Vieng and continued on to Vientiane, the current capital city, which we found to be mediocre and boring. We continued our journey south through the cities of Savannakhet and Pakse, reaching the southernmost tip of Laos, an area called 4000 Islands. Finally, we left Laos on foot, crossing the border into Cambodia.
